Ottoman Hands was inspired by the hands of the artisans that create our unique jewellery. We still work with the same artisans to this day to create handmade, sustainable jewellery, inspired by antique designs with a contemporary twist.

Ottoman Hands is a British fashion jewellery brand that bridges the gap between eastern heritage and western style. Inspired by the allure of the Ottoman Empire, the brand creates contemporary jewelry that feels like a modern heirloom. Every piece is handcrafted in a small workshop in Istanbul using 21ct gold-plated brass and handset with semi-precious stones, ensuring a unique, artisanal finish. The brand has gained international acclaim for its modern antique aesthetic, frequently appearing in high-fashion editorials and on screen in productions like The Crown. Their designs are characterized by rich textures, ancient symbols, and a commitment to preserving traditional Turkish craftsmanship.

Our collections are hand-crafted by skilled artisans, gold-plated with up to 21ct for a high quality finish on recycled brass or recycled sterling silver and hand set with semi-precious gemstones, which makes every piece different and unique.

Ottoman Hands was founded by Deniz Gurdal in 2010. Deniz started the business from a stall in London’s Portobello Market, fueled by her passion for the historic jewelry-making traditions of her native Turkey and a desire to bring that craftsmanship to a global audience. As demand grew, she partnered with an independent workshop in Istanbul's Grand Bazaar to handcraft the antique-inspired pieces using recycled metals and semi-precious gemstones.
