How to style your NYE look - LDC's Top Picks

By Phoebe J Carney, Contributor

Christmas and New Years Eve are fast approaching, and we want to share our tips on styling the perfect outfit to help you feel gorgeous and glam for the occasion, whether you’re out and about or just at home. No top is too plain, no skirt too short, no heel too high!

Let’s kick things straight off by taking a look at how to style some of our favourites at LDC. This year has been all about comfort; the at home work attire V.S. the all-day pyjamas, and so why not take comfort to the next level and add a festive twist to the everyday slouch?

Outfit No. 1 - Nightwear Chic

Our first outfit is centred around the Burgundy Velvet Long Pajama Set by Not Just Pajama. We’re really taking the brands name seriously here by styling this set as an evening wear special! The deep red tones are perfect to get into the Christmas spirit and will allow you to match effortlessly with a mug of mulled wine. Spice up this wonderfully silky two piece with the Ajax Fur Black 50 heels by Lamperti Milano. The two fur panels match the two-piece’s fluffy feel and create an air connotative of the boudoir. Think Doris Day in a negligee and fluffy mules. To add a little sparkle, we’re finishing this outfit off with the Nudo Thick Gold Chain Choker by Amadeus that hugs the neck and brings a bold finish, making this outfit a statement one. Go get em, Doris!

Outfit No. 2 - Suited and Booted

For our second outfit we’re all about the Victoria Chestnut Blazer. This rich-coloured blazer has a slender cut reminiscent of the style of the 70s and has an accented waistline and decorative stitches for that extra oomph. AGGI is a brand dedicated to the woman who admires precise tailoring and enjoys experimenting with colours and textures, so if that sounds like you, this brand has you covered. To pair with this crisp cut we’ve chosen Underage’s Mini Skirt in green, adorned with drooping jewellery. We all know that green and red are the colours of Christmas, so this pairing is nothing short of perfect. The Chestnut blazer comes just below the waistline, leaving the details of the skirt subtle yet striking. Lastly, the shoes to strut in this outfit are the Flora Bootie in Black by Susana Madrid. With their modest design they allow the jewellery on the skirt to sparkle brightly, the velvet bow adding a pinch of character that is central to all the brand’s shoes. When you shop this brand, you are investing in the practice of sourcing sustainable materials and ethical processes that empower women, the community and the planet.

Outfit No. 3 - Go With the Flow

For our final pick we’re keeping things bold but classy. In the past few years, flares have made their way vibrantly back into our lives and allowed us to add even more excitement to our wardrobes – something we’re very thankful for. AGGI The Rebecca Total Eclipse Pants are elegant, striking and chic, giving us all the elements of dressing like a boss bitch. A top to compete with these pants is Ashtiana Studio’s Double Layer Papillon off-shoulder Top in green. Made with 100% silk organza it is soft to the skin and its layers flow with the fabric of the trousers, and do we even have to mention the colour? With class and vibrance in mind, we’ve decided to accessorise this outfit with the Opuline Amara earrings. Gold plated with nine rows of kundan glass work they hang the length of the neck and glisten beautifully. Black enamel is hand painted onto each row, giving it a personal and unique touch. Now, the shoes? The Lamperti Milano stilettos. Glossy black heel and panted suede point, the ultimate finish to embrace your sensuality and power.

Hopefully these styling and outfit recommendations will help you feel superb when you get dressed up as we celebrate the end of a very turbulent year, even if the only person to see it is you and the mirror! We all deserve something exciting and indulgent, so let’s enter 2021 with a bang.
