ANTI BLACK FRIDAY - Celebrating Innovative Brands with the Sustainable Lifestyle Awards

The Sustainable Lifestyle Awards were created to shape the way consumers shop for the better.

As Black Friday sales draw near, the high street is already seeing a dip in their sales. Customers are keeping a low profile with their excitement building up. Keeping their wallets close to their chest for just one more month, saving items to their wishlist only to overspend when the time comes.

The biggest issue with Black Friday sales is the encouragement of large retail corporations encouraging people to buy more - it’s so discounted, so why wouldn’t you? Devaluing products, encouraging people to over consume, has a massive impact on the environment and also small businesses.

This year LDC has partnered with the Sustainable Lifestyle Awards to celebrate the movers and shakers in sustainable fashion. The SLAs carefully selected winners from a variety of categories by an impressive judging group from all areas of the fashion industry. It’s great to see the change being recognised from all areas.

This year is their inaugural awards and a hugely successful start to something we’re definitely going to see a lot more of.

Celebrating the announcement of their winners, the SLAs will be taking centre stage at the LDC ‘Anti Black Friday’ pop up this November. With their judges to award the winners of each category, each winner will then have the chance to briefly talk about the ethos behind their brand. Join us in honoring the winners with drinks in Shoreditch on the 28th November.

The categories are: accessories, activewear, beauty, brand of the year, content creator, fashion brand, footwear, gift & lifestyle, homewears, innovation, jewellery, launch of the year, lingerie & sleepwear, online marketplace, person of the year, restaurant, skincare, vegan, and the people’s choice.

LDC is happy to support the SLA awards in changing fashion and lifestyle brands for the better. We’re incredibly excited that number of our brands have also been shortlisted as finalists including, Luxtra, Monc, Pala Eyewear, Gung Ho, Riley Studio, Yala Jewellery, and Kinder Wilder.

Check out a full breakdown of the finalists here.
