Dead-stock, eco-friendly and recycled fabrics
Yilang is half French and half Chinese, she is the designer of Yilou, she is passionate about art and fabrics full of colours and various textures, she gets inspiration from organic shapes in nature, what's available in the deadstock world and just playing around with shapes and layers.
Yilou is a clothing brand and project between artists to create textiles, prints and beautifully sustainable clothes. Our pieces are made with dead-stock, eco-friendly and recycled fabrics along with leftover yarn. We want to change the speed of fast fashion so have decided to be slower paced, locally sourced and produced, yielding higher quality pieces both ethically and material wise. Items are made in extremely limited runs in an attempt to cut out the problem of excess waste stock. Our fabric's printing system does not require water, transfer paper, or the use of products toxic to humans and nature.
We have created the LDC values in the form of our three symbols that explore the mindful, traceable and transparent processes and practices that our brands adhere to and stand for, to help you discover how the products are made and make conscious choices.
Yilou uses deadstock fabrics, left over yarns and also a printing system that doesn't use water or toxic products. The brand also source some of fabric with greentex and everything is made locally. As for the tags they are cotton or recycled and our packaging is biodegrade.
All clothes are made in a small atelier in Paris and the hand knitted jumpers are made in the countryside in France.
