THE DESIGNER
Siblings Nakul and Sonal created Thread and Tonic - the modern material brand which is centered around creating a better world. Nakul and Sonal's family history is rooted in leather accessory production and their in-depth knowledge was gained through working in the family business. Nakul and Sonal wanted to create something new, unique, sustainable, functional, and beautiful.
ABOUT THE BRAND
Thread and Tonic create sustainable bags and accessories. They are about product, lifestyle, materials and technology. They are a collective of designers, technicians, researchers and artisans, comitted to protecting the planet. With 70+ years of experience in their field, they are passionate about producing highest quality products that consider responsibilities.

We have created the LDC values in the form of our three symbols that explore the mindful, traceable and transparent processes and practices that our brands adhere to and stand for, to help you discover how the products are made and make conscious choices.

Products are made in the world’s first 100% solar powered leather goods factory.
For every item sold on Thread & Tonic store, 10 trees are planted in Madagascar.
They calculate emissions using a carbon calculator in order to offset their emissions in advance.
Reduced packaging used which is either fully recyclable or biodegradable.
Where possible, Thread and Tonic use renewable energy sources.
They are carbon neutral.
They are committed to minimising their environmental impact to reduce the speed of climate change and resource depletion.

Thread and Tonic believe that change begins with education and work with Pratham to help girls and young women from disadvantaged communities complete their secondary school education.
They have also committed to giving 1% of revenue (not just profit) to non-profit environmental organisations.
Each purchase helps to provide one year of access to safe water for a person in the developing world.
