Founded by three close friends Sandra, Danute and Akvile. In 2014 as they travelled around South East Asia and learned about the downsides of the fast fashion industry and decided to create their own sustainable and ethical knit wear brand that empowered the people making it. Today, based between Brooklyn, New York, and Vilnius, Lithuania, the three entrepreneurs are in pursuit of improving ['the industry one knit at a time.
The Knotty Ones is a sustainable knitwear label that has a modern feel and empowers the women making their products. The knotty ones make sustainable fashion accessible for everyone.
We have created the LDC values in the form of our three symbols that explore the mindful, traceable and transparent processes and practices that our brands adhere to and stand for, to help you discover how the products are made and make conscious choices.
The Knotty Ones believe in shopping less, but better. Their high quality garments will last. Focus is on creating individual pieces. Fabrics are natural and sustainable.
Craftswomen around Lithuania create the garments. The majority of them live in villages where jobs are difficult to find, and are stay-at-home mums. The Knotty Ones offers a great opportunity for women to earn fair wages and provide for themselves and their families.
