LDC's guide to crafty accessories - The colourful, creative jewellery trend we cant escape this season
For this seasons top accessory trend think back to days of friendship bracelets, brightly coloured beading, candy necklaces and charms galore; Crafty jewellery is taking centre stage but with a contemporary twist for 2021. From the instagram 'IT' girls to the runways of Chanel and Versace, we have seen a colourful serge in jewellery pieces full of fun, constructed of acrylic, beads and jewels reminiscent of 90s crafty nostalgia.
EARRINGS
Statement jewellery is the easiest way to inject colour into any look, ideal to offset a tonal outfit or if you are of the maximalist mindset, adding to a colourful colour palette for a truly exaggerated edge. The Libby beading hoop earrings by Alison Fern are a crafty update to your classic gold hoops, whilst the Carlota Weinmar by Bocanegra are the dramatic touch you need for summer styling.
RINGS
The rules for rings this season is that more is definitely more, from stacking colourful jewels to mixing metals and materials, subtle styling has truly been left in 2020. Indulge in candy coloured jewels with the Sophia collection by Amadeus, or please your inner magpie with glistening gemstones of Tiana Jewel, chunky styles paired with healing crystals that will sit perfectly in your jewellery collection.
NECKLACES
Heading towards the warmer months, strapless styles and low necklines are made for statement, crafty pendants and chunky chains. Sabrina Facchetti brings eccentric exaggerated shapes whilst Manimekala uses abstract textures and materials inspired by outer space to create bold pieces.
