Punk is back! Courtesy of Vivienne Westwood and the iconic orb necklace, the aesthetic has slowly been infiltrating the mainstream. A blend of historical inspiration and modern rebellion, there is something for everyone in this trend. Maybe controversial, but undeniably fun, incorporate the edgy aesthetic into your everyday with these fun pieces.
TOPS
Perhaps the easiest way to edge into this trend is with a fun top. Punk has a long history of pulling from 19th century fashion which gave us the corset and more Victorian-esque styles. If this is up your street, the Lara Downtown corset by Aggi is the perfect, modern take on this silhouette. As punk moved through the decades more modern aesthetics have started to incorporate themselves into this trend - mesh tops are one of our favourite styles! Underage’s Print Mesh Top and the Brittany Shadow Top by Aggi are the perfect way to make a subtle and stylish statement.
TROUSERS & SHORTS
Tartan, leather, and even more mesh - these are our favourite trouser styles to nail the punk aesthetic. Underage’s Mesh Trousers are perhaps the boldest pair of the lot. Made ethically in London, they’re as cool as they are conscious. If you’re erring on the side of caution, the Nora Pants by Aggi are a fun, bold statement cut in a classic and wearable silhouette. To truly channel your inner punk rocker, the Pleated Kilt Shorts by Velasquez come in the iconic tartan print and are cut in a silhouette that takes inspiration from the trend’s kilt fad.
JACKETS
When exploring a new style, outerwear is a simple way to make a statement and leather is an easy way to dip your toe in. The Leather Crop Jacket by The Letter is a great example with the cropped, collarless silhouette adding edge to the classic style, keeping the right blend of wearable and stylish. Underage’s Deconstructed Blazer takes the punk aesthetic to new heights – incorporating the mesh trend with deconstruction to create the perfect statement. Talking about statements, prints were all the hype in the prime era of the punk movement, we love the Punk Tailored Jacket by Velasquez paired with the Pleated Kilt Shorts for the ultimate punk rock aesthetic.
ACCESSORIES
Accessories are the at the forefront of this style. Chokers, boots, anything and everything studded, it’s all fair game when stylising your punk look. The Bucket Bag by Ganor Dominic embodies this aesthetic – edgy, unique and unexpected. It’s made from leftover shoe production materials making it stylish and sustainable, an LDC priority. If you’re ready to dive straight in, try the Agathon boots by Lamperti Milano paired with the Clea choker by Studio Pia for an instant, edgy statement.
