Long Live Florals For Spring
By Talitha Ward
The skies are brighter, the days are longer and moods are lifting, it can only mean one thing - here is LDC’s ultimate guide to florals this spring
We can’t mention florals without at least thinking about the iconic Miranda Priestley quote but, let's be honest, who doesn’t love a floral for spring? In our opinion, it never goes out of style so we’ve taken a dive into some of our favourite brands here at Lone Design Club to present you with a curated, sustainable edit of fashion’s most immortal trend.
MINIMALISTIC PRINT
Transitioning into new seasons can be daunting, one of our favourite ways to ease into spring is with a toned-down print. Whether you’re lucky enough to be headed on vacation in the warmer months or simply embracing newfound freedom by catching up with old friends, a subtly printed dress is a wardrobe must-have. One of our favourites is the wrap dress by Birdsong paired with a heeled slide by Essen for the ultimate spring aesthetic or, for an edgier, feminine feel, trade in the sandals for a chunky Trash Planet trainer. To complete the look, pop on a statement accessory like the Farai Flamingo sunnies from Pala Eyewear and you’re good to go.
BOLD AND BRIGHT
Whether you’re a maximalist through and through or simply love experimenting with statement pieces, spring is the perfect time to try something new. Florals are inevitable year after year and could possibly be one of the most reliable trends around, so investing in a fun, flowery print is always a safe bet. If you’re looking to go all out floral this season, we love the Hazel jacket by Sabinna, styled with a pair of colourful, wide-leg trousers from Asime, for a look that’s full of personality. If you’re on the cusp of daring or prefer the florals to make their own statement, try this look with a simpler trouser, like Judy Wu’s Ponta Roma Culottes. Fully embrace the spring aesthetic with an open shoe, like The Sling by HH The Brand, for a timeless, yet bold, contemporary look.
FLORAL ACCESSORIES
Spring is the best excuse to up your accessories game and elevate your look with the perfect piece of jewellery, statement handbag or unique accessory like the Autumn Hand-Fan from Khu Khu. Crafted by hand from sustainable materials, Khu Khu creates high-quality pieces that offer as much functionality as they do style, a true must-have for the transitional season. The Forest Bag from Adam Elias, made from vegan leather in a bottle-green hue, is equal parts trendy and timeless and would be an effortless addition to any spring outfit. Our favourite jewellery item for the season is the Flora Pearl Ring by Carolina Wong, classic but bold, it embodies the spring aesthetic and perfectly complements any outfit.
