Empowerers + Entrepreneurs: Networking with Badass Women

Thursday 11th July // @ 6 - 9PM

49 South Molton Street, Mayfair, London, W1K 5LA

Lone Design Club is hosting a networking event for female empowerers and entrepreneurs to unite, network and engage across one evening. We’re calling upon badass women from everywhere to feel empowered and join in the movement.

We work damn hard and we know we do, so let’s celebrate it.

Welcoming all entrepreneurs, founders, women in business, lovers of independent emerging labels, or those who are simply curious! (Men and women, of course!)

We have created an evening to hear the amazing stories from some women who have achieved great things.

Join us for drinks, discussion and networking.

The event will run within the concept store, therefore you will have ample time to explore, browse, meet the designers and shop from our wonderful emerging brands with exclusive one night only discounts.

Owing to the Wimbledon Tennis Tournament and the sports theme of the store, we have selected a number of sports related speakers. We will be talking to some select guests about their experiences in the sporting industry, what issues they faced, how they persevered and reached the height of their careers as well as women in fashion and business creators.

What to expect:

  • Presentations and panel discussions from inspirational empowering women in business
  • Networking with fellow women in business from a range of industries, with a particular focus on females in fashion
  • Ask the experts your questions on how to be successful in your field
  • Learn more about LDC and our goal to empower emerging designers in the fashion industry, and the stories behind our design partners
  • Empowering atmosphere with likeminded individuals

Agenda:

  • 6pm: Doors open, grab a drink
  • 6.30pm: Networking with influencers + guest speakers
  • 7pm: Discussion begins
  • 8pm: Q&A with guest speakers
  • 8.30pm: More networking + more drinks!
  • 9pm: Close

    MEET THE SPEAKERS:

OLIVIA LANGINGER: Creative Director and Founder of Ivincia

Olivia grew up playing tennis, starting at age 6. Inspired by her ongoing frustration of never being able to find tennis clothes that were flattering or only available in white, Olivia founded IVINCIA in 2016 with a collection of 6 tennis dresses featuring bold hand-drawn botanical prints inspired by Boticelli’s painting, Primavera.

Ivincia is the Goddess of Invincibility, Olivia believes that tennis is both a mental and a physical sport. Tapping into the feeling of invincibility when you’re on the tennis court is hugely important to the outcome of the match.

Starting a brand has many unexpected challenges. However, it was these challenges that made Olivia more determined than ever to succeed. It was during this time that the name Ivincia was coined, it reflects this state of mind where you feel like you are invincible and can achieve anything.

    TANYSHA DISSANAYAKE - Tennis Pro

Tanysha is an up and coming tennis champion. She competed at Wimbledon in 2018 (whilst wearing an Ivincia dress). She is set to be a rising star and one to watch. Tanysha will be sharing her story on how she feels empowered as she rises through the ranks of young tennis professionalism.

    OOOOOTA ADEPO: Entrepreneur, activist

Ooooota Adepo is a female entrepreneur driven by her two passions – creativity and social impact. She began her entrepreneurial journey by establishing Cross Culture Creative (CCC) - an investment advisory between Africa and Europe. In 2016, Ooooota took on a small role in Wonder Woman, as the theme of the film deeply aligns with her feminist values. In June of 2018, Ooooota gave a TEDx talk, challenging the discriminatory principles that underline certain immigration and trade policies, internationally and on the African continent.

She has had many roles in fashion, working for high end designers. She is now working on The Pink Taxi, a global marketplace for female led brands, believing in re-establishing the autonomy of female consumers, celebrating innovative design in products for women, and allowing women to be leaders in value-conscious consumption. And to ultimately dictate what is right for them.

NIKKI LOVE: Athlete, adventure runner, inspirational speaker

Nikki will be joining us to discuss what it is to be a professional female athlete, empowering women through sport and managing motherhood and marathons.
