Fashion needs to make needs to make a change, the Anti-Black Friday Concept store returns with only sustainable brand curation.

Undeniably, ‘sustainability’ is THE hot topic of the fashion industry. Whether you’re a customer or a creator, however, determining what this really means, while creating a product people really want and need can be a challenge.

To answer this question, Fashion Originators and LDC are hosting a live podcast event featuring three sustainable brands who combine strong values with business savvy! Through this event, you’ll learn how to define your values, niche and audience, and how to create products people will covet (and keep forever). As a fashion consumer, you’ll also learn how to identify brands that align with your values, and they keys to building a more conscious closet.

Who’s this for?

  • Designers looking to start a ‘sustainable brand’ with growth-potential
  • Anyone considering starting a ‘sustainable business’
  • fashion-lovers who want to shop more consciously
  • fashion industry professionals
  • podcast lovers
  • Anyone!

What to expect:

  • 6:30pm: Arrival + drinks
  • 7:00pm: Talk begin
  • 8pm: Q&A
  • 8.30pm: Drinks + networking
  • 9pm: close!

Meet the Speakers:

Stephanie Irwin, Founder of Fashion Originators

I'm a recent graduate of the University of St Andrews . I'm a Canadian in East London with a passion for the 'business side' of fashion. I'm not an entrepreneur (YET), but I started this show as a way to learn from people who are. Fashion + business + making new friends = a podcast that brings me (and I hope you) a lot of joy.

Nathalie Simond, Founder + Creative Director of Amadeus

Born in Paris, London based jewellery designer Natalie Simond is the founder and creative director of Amadeus.

Nathalie grew up in a multi-cultural environment and after spending her childhood living in several different continents she settled in London where she studied Fashion Design at the prestigious Central Saint Martin's School of Art. Her varied experience working in the fashion industry as well as her extensive travels across the globe always inspire her to create bespoke jewellery pieces that fill her and her clients with a sense of happiness. Amadeus is Nathalie's new love, a hand-made, eclectic and ethical inspired collection.

As a brand, Amadeus takes great care to ensure that all of pieces are produced with a focus on sustainability and ethical practice. Hand producing all of our pieces in our London studio gives us complete control over the entire process, from sourcing and production to setting and finishing.

Sophie Dunster, Founder + Creative Director of Gung Ho

Sophie Dunster was raised living a low carbon lifestyle and launched Gung Ho shortly having graduating from Edinburgh College of Art. She now lives on a eco-friendly houseboat in London and runs Gung Ho from a converted shipping container on top of the pier at Nine Elms. Sophie’s aim is to get people talking about current issues through fashion that acts as a conversation starter; and use Gung Ho to  create a movement in the design world, becoming a hotspot of creative inspiration, collaborating with individuals making waves of change.

Alice McAnulty, Head of London Operations at Lone Design Club

Alice has a rich background in fashion and a passion for sustainability. Through her travels around the world, Alice has taken an active approach towards making a change for good. From working for the Ethical Fashion Initiative in Switzerland to being as involved in climate activism as possible, wherever Alice goes she leads notions of positive change.

Now at Lone Design Club, Alice is leading the teams growth throughout the UK, spreading the message on sustainability and supporting small independent brands.

About Fashion Originators

This show is different from most fashion business content because the focus is on: Gen X and millennial fashion start-ups, ORIGINAL ideas, unpretentious discussion and the occasional 'masterclass' with an entrepreneurial legend or two.
