THE DESIGNER

Founded in London by Maldivian siblings Yasra and Yusree Jaleel in 2016, the brand’s name Kandumathi comes from a traditional Maldivian phrase which embodies the essence of a vulnerable but enduring life, It is Kandu – Ocean and Mathi – in it, meaning “in the ocean” or “at sea.”

ABOUT THE BRAND

Kandumathi is a Maldivian swimwear label, which was born out of traditional thinking with a global outlook. The label takes inspiration from natural environment and Maldivian culture, and works with local artists and designers to produce their pieces. The brand’s swimwear collections are based on water colour paintings.

We have created the LDC values in the form of our three symbols that explore the mindful, traceable and transparent processes and practices that our brands adhere to and stand for, to help you discover how the products are made and make conscious choices.
