Camilla, the designer of Camilla Bloom founded her brand in 2018. She credits her desire for meticulous craftsmanship to her family's history of carpentry and tailoring. Camilla's design background is also in tailoring and outerwear, she is exacting when it comes to detail and finish. She loves the discipline of this kind of design but also wants to feel free in her clothing.
'Bloom' is a nod to her late maternal Grandmother Barbara Bloom who owned her own boutique and a lot of leopard print.
ABOUT THE BRAND
Right now Camilla is drawn to working with knit as a form of construction as it is a great way of combining formality with comfort. Camilla explains that it feels much more authentic to work with knit, because she get to design the surface textures from scratch before knitting into garment form.
As a result, the outcome is much more intricate and unique than traditional ready-to-wear. It takes a lot of time and experimentation to make these garments - which bridge the gap between the fluidity found in knitwear and the structure of tailoring.
Collections are not named after seasons. as Camilla doesn't like the implication that they expire. Instead they are designed to be long-lasting and versatile - an investment for everyday life.
We have created the LDC values in the form of our three symbols that explore the mindful, traceable and transparent processes and practices that our brands adhere to and stand for, to help you discover how the products are made and make conscious choices.
the factory Camilla Bloom works with in China has created a water recycling system, where water used in key stages of manufacture such as steaming and washing is reused time and time again for the same process.Discover more about LDC values
