Summer Set Styling: A Guide to Co-ordinated Dressing
By Amy Devon
Set yourself up for success this season with LDC's guide to co-ordinated dressing
With dates going in the diary, the beer garden finally opening and with warmer weather on the horizon, we can finally start dressing for occasions other than Netflix marathons. And although we have perfected the art of the matching set over the past year with copious amounts of loungewear and sweats, it is time to start using this practise for a much more elevated type of co-ordinated dressing. The matching set is truly one of the best styling secrets to effortless dressing, from colour blocking, striking head to toe prints, fluid shapes and sharp tailoring, there is definitely a match made in heaven for you.
HEAD TO TOE PRINT
As the clouds of lockdown begin to part, we can all start to feel optimistic about the ‘new normal’ that awaits us. And with the chance to dress up once again, why not reflect these new found feelings of optimism with bright and bold prints that will ensure you look as good as you feel on the inside. Some of our favourite printed sets this season come from Asime; Their pink and green check set combines a classic wide leg trouser with a feminine smock crop top, continue with the colourful styling and pair with Ganor Dominic Venus heel in neon yellow for a smart casual look that will catch everyones eye.
When you think matching set, the obviously go-to would be a tailored 2 piece and with an influx of rescheduled wedding invites and other formal occasions heading our way, there has been no better time to discover the perfect tailored set for you. Aggi has reimagined the traditional suit this season with the undoubtably modern Ramona blazer and Billie shorts. A grassy green hue (also available in 7 other colours!) covers a oversized cut blazer paired with a wide leg Bermuda short, creating a summer suit that can be styled up or down. Match with Sienna Alexander Jackie sunglasses and HH the Brand loafers for modern meets classic look.
If you think that lockdown to 'real world' dressing is going to be a shock to the system, you can apply your sweat-set mentality to refine everyday effortless styling. The Anais set by Sabinna is definitely merging the lines between loungewear and outwear. A head to toe tonal colour palette radiates a luxe and sophisticated finish whilst the relaxed cut and knit texture ensures comfort comes first. Complete the off duty look with the Trash Planet Billie chunky trainer and snake chain necklace from Amadeus.
