Life Post Lock-Down: July Look-Book
By Cordelia Speed, Contributor
Lockdown is over, retail is open again and we’re now having to adjust to this new normal. Throughout lockdown I was mainly wearing a rotation of tracksuits so I am ready to bounce back into reality to serve some straight looks! I have put three outfits together which for me are emblematic of London’s innovative sense of style.
Now that July has commenced the weather is definitely starting heat up. On a sunny day I can envision myself take a stroll with friends in Regent’s Park. Whilst this is not the sort of event one would ordinarily dress-up for, post-lockdown I will not be taking this opportunity for granted! Rather, I will be embracing the cyber sports trend with some iconic pieces from LDC’s designers. One of my favourite pieces is Judy Wu’s Eyelets Skirt, which is the definition of fashion-forward fun with its playful splashes of colours and different combinations of textures. This would pair well with a Birdsong tee which is a quieter piece but has a loud message with the words “Power to the People and the Planet” displayed as a simple graphic in the middle of the chest. The baby blue of the graphic picks up the same blue found in a colour panel of the skirt and ties the two pieces together. On my feet, I would go for Ganor Dominic’s Marcus White-Pink art sneakers. The fun blocks of colour in these shoes echo those found in the skirt. For accessories - an Elsa Tierney Jewellery Angel Ring in Sterling Silver which picks up the quirky feature of the signature Ganor face on the sneakers.

Another pastime that I used to take for granted was a leisurely drift around the incredible range of London museums, my favourite being the Victoria and Albert museum. Museums will hopefully be opening soon so I may as well start planning my outfits – right? If I could go to the V&A now, I would be sure to rock pieces that create a defined silhouette, going for ESTHE’s White Corset Top and teaming it with Darin Hachem’s Linen Shorts in Beige. The puff sleeves and corset structure of the top are guaranteed to create the illusion of an hour-glass figure when teamed with the high-waist of the shorts which hang relaxed at the knee. To pick up the beige of the shorts, I would add a pair of Ganor Dominic’s Juniper flats in the same colour which adds a dimension of chic minimalism to the look. For accessories, I would stack a couple of Jewel Tree London’s necklaces to add some glamour to the open space left at the chest by the low-cut top. The Baori All Season Necklace in Rose Gold Vermeil and the Baori Choker in Gold Vermeil would be my pieces of choice. Finally, I would bring along the perfectly sized and effortlessly stylish Fukuro Tote bag in Ivory stuffed with all of my essentials including my SABINNA Face Mask and my Haoma Hand Sanitiser.

If there is one thing I know for sure about life post-lockdown, it’s that for my first girls’ night out there will be no holding back. My dress of choice? There is no doubt about it – it would have to be Nata’s Patchwork Dress. Made from black silk, turquoise silk and hand embroidered organza - this piece is the ultimate showstopper! The delicacy of the silk and embroidery is juxtaposed with the asymmetricity of the cut which adds a fashion-forward edge to the elegant fabrics. I would team this with Susana Madrid’s Luccini Bootie as the bold colours of the print on the heel perfectly enhance the colours of the embroidery and in particular the turquoise silk in the dress. For accessories, Alison Fern’s Steph Hoop Earrings with Quartz Beads in gold are the way to go as the beads echo the same detail in the dress. This would pair nicely with Fremiot's discrete gold choker.

As always, all of these pieces adhere to LDC’s values and have been made responsibly and with the interests of the people and the planet at their hearts. Hopefully you feel inspired to get outside - at a distance - and show off some of your new looks!
